Health issues & symptoms – Your medication

Set an alarm on your mobile to remind you to take your pills.

Dosette boxes or blister packs are useful to remind you whether or not you have taken your medication. Choose the best variation for your specific needs. Some dosette boxes have an alarm to alert you when it is time to take your medication. (Read this booklet by the Scottish Dementia Working Group here).

Local pharmacies can often arrange to deliver medication directly to your home. This means that you do not have to remember to collect it. (Read this booklet by the Scottish Dementia Working Group here).

Move your pill boxes to a different bowl or place after you take them, so you know you have done so. Label the bowls. Then tip them back at the end of the day! Whatever suits you.

When you have taken your medications, tell Alexa to remember that you have taken them today at whatever time it is. Then if in doubt, ask Alexa if you have taken them.

Use weekly dose pods or boxes. These can be made up by yourself, or the pharmacy or your carer.
